The Mental Implosion Of Ben Simmons
Ben Simmons redefined the point guard position with his exceptional size and court vision. As a "Point Big Man," his playmaking skills and ability to drive to the basket made him a formidable force on the offensive end. Defensively, Simmons could guard positions one through five and was one of the best, if not the best, perimeter defenders in the NBA.
However, his jumpshot, mental state, and later a back injury affected his confidence and performance on the court. Let's find out what exactly happened with Ben Simmons.

This Will Change Your Perspective On Killian Hayes..

I used to watch tons of Detroit Pistons games back when Deividas Sirvydis was still a part of the team. In every game, Killian Hayes stood out to me as a pretty bad player. He would either miss every single shot he took or make stupid attempts to squeeze the ball into a crowded paint. Simply put, I wasn't a fan of Killian Hayes. So, I decided to analyze his game, and it completely changed my pe...

I lived in China many years. No kids walked around with varsity/club jackets indicating they played organized sports like in other parts of the world. Parents and society valued educational success more. Only elite sites to nurture talents that weren't accessible to the average person. I remember walking through the courtyard of the school everyday with students all over bumping a volleybal for the WHOLE class, whole semester. Never playing a game or even knowing/trying hand setting not once. When I showed them they thought it was some illegal move.

NBA Coach on timeout: "There is no energy guys! Come on! We've been here before, I believe in you, trust each other and we can make it as a team" (pretty much hollywood script lmao) Europe Coach on timeout: " Alright. Listen Up. This is what we are going to do. You will do this, you will do that, we will make this play and if it doesnt work then we will switch to this one. If X guy comes here, you switch like that and you have this Y dude cover you." (actual basketball)

Americans are too focused on their pointless show off dribbling skills training while European players are training in actual basketball fundamentals which is why they end up being way more intelligent players with higher basketball IQ. The NBA has turned into a circus show while Euroleague is an actual sporting event. The golden era of 70s-80s-90s NBA is long gone. The NBA media in general is a farce... their "experts" like Stephen A Smith resort to shouting like a salesman and their general way of speaking looks like they are addressing braindead people with zero critical thinking.

He showed us who we was before he stepped foot in an NBA uniform. His lack of work ethic even prior to LSU, which his supporters overlooked in favor of his “freakish natural ability”, was on full display from DAY ONE. I also highly doubt he gives a shit, so our collective best bet is to forget dude exists altogether. Let him try his hand at fashion or whatever other metrosexual work he wants to do. But let’s stop considering him a “thing” as it relates to the NBA.

Why do we have to pretend that his initial scouting report was incorrect?? ""Simmons' lack of competitiveness in some crucial games has raised questions about his character as a basketball player. While many top picks succumb to the NBA star lifestyle and emerge as average competitors, it's rare to see that at the collegiate level." Nuff said🤷🏽‍♂

They develops players the right way In Europe you are taught all of the skills on the court regardless of size. Guards learn to post up, big men learn to handle the ball, forwards learn to pass and so on. In the U.S. you can get pigeonholed into a position pretty early, especially if you are more mature physically at a young age and never learn other skills besides how to score near the hoop. Europe plays the game the right way. In Europe, the basketball system is fluid. They have the same rules, same courts, same lines, all year round. There isn’t a shot clock in some places and not in others (there is one everywhere, at every level). The three-point line doesn’t change. In the U.S., some states have shot clocks and some don’t. With rules changes between high school and AAU, it can take the focus off of on-court development. There aren’t as many parents who have an “ownership mentality” as can happen in AAU settings.

Tennis is sport shrink the court you have Pickleball a recreational center hobby played on a court one-quarter the size of tennis court short. Its appeal the low learning curve, and appeal to a wide range of ages and fitness levels. Pickleball court is over 5 times larger than a ping pong table. Which originally was an after-dinner parlour game or in frat house basement or a garage during a rainy day. My point is p[ing pong is not a sport. Pickleball is fun af in case you are wondering. Pickleball as Olympic sport (shouldn't be one) has more merit than ping pong.

OP tactics work in basketball too I see 😂. The options this kind of offense gives with the spacing only works if you have decent shooters 1-5…there can be no non-shooters on the floor for this to work. Fitting that Luka (a Galactico) would be taken down by a Guardiola Barcelona scheme.

There's actually a deep-rooted culture in basketball. In fact, when China was going through its Cultural Revolution, "banning" a ton of Western sports, basketball was spared because Chairman Mao himself was a fan of the sport. Unfortunately, having that history doesn't always translate into international success if the organizers have no idea what they're doing.

He needed to take a page out of Rick Barry's approach. Everyone laughed, but Barry put up and scored free-throws like shooting fish in a barrel. His career .880 free throw percentage ranks No. 1 in ABA history, and his .900 percentage was the best of any NBA player at the time of his retirement in 1980. So 10 trips to the line and you've scored 9 points. The hack attack would end immediately, Geez you really only need to get to .80 (cause that is 8 points from 10 trips) No coach in the NBA will hack you to give up 8 points. Back injuries do a number on you. I worked with two big guys. Asked one if he ever played B-ball, and he goes nope, he had a bad back. And another built like a football player was always grimacing because of his bad back.
